One of the world's most unique events came to Sunderland for the first time on Sunday when the Color Run landed at the Stadium of Light.

All 6,000 places were snapped up in a matter of days when they went on sale and the excitement was palpable when the runners took to the start line to take on the "happiest 5k run on the planet".

Runners of all ages, shapes and sizes took part in the colour filled run where partcipants were doused with different coloured paints at the 1k, 2k, 3k and 4k markers.

When the finish line was crossed the fun was just getting started as the runners and spectators enjoyed a huge party complete with huge paint throwing activities, photos and lots of dancing.
