A military band, buglers, a barbershop quartet and a school choir are all playing their part in this year's annual Concert of Remembrance.

This year’s concert is headlined by the Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai Band and promises music from across the years and the opportunity to honour those who have served their country, many making the ultimate sacrifice.

Also on the evening:

• The City Sings 2013 overall winner – East Herrington Primary School

• Band and Bugles of Durham Army Cadet Force

• The Shoeshop Quartet, a professional girl group from the North-East of England, specialising in Barbershop and close-harmony acapella singing.

• Readings ‘In Flanders Field’ read by Colonel J G Hughes, T D( Late YORKS)

• ‘For the Fallen’ read by Ted Hold ISM, President of the Sunderland Branch of The Parachute Regimental Association

• ‘Far East POW Prayer’ read by Len Gibson, formerly of 125 Anti-Tank Regiment Royal Artillery and POW on the Death Railway

• March on of Her Majesty’s Forces, and the Standards of the Royal British Legion, and the Emergency Services.

Tickets for the annual Concert of Remembrance at the Seaburn Centre Sunderland on Saturday 9 November are now on sale priced £6. They can be purchased at Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens, opening hours are Monday to Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sunday 2 – 5pm.

Doors open for the concert on Saturday 9 November at 6.30pm with the concert due to begin at 7pm ending at approximately 9.15pm
