A massive well done to everyone who took part this weekend in the Half Marathon, City 10k and Zip Wire Challenge...

What a weekend it's been so far! This morning shortly after 10am, we saw our first zipper of the day take off the Wearmouth Bridge just as the whistle was blown over at the Stadium of Light signalling the start of the 2014 festival of running.

The crowds were out in force across the city to cheer on everyone taking part in both runs and it was an absolutely fantastic sight to see! We want to say a massive well done to everyone who took part in the runs today and everyone who came out to support.

Meanwhile back at the Zip Wire, we had some special guests taking flight including our very own Chris Alexander who sailed down like an expert. We also treated our official zip wire blogger Tasha to a flight and she recorded a brilliant video of her experience.

With lots going on in the city centre, some of the team were also at Herrington County Park for the Sunderland Steam Spectacular which was also had a great day! If you missed it today, don't worry you can still catch it tomorrow between 10am-4pm.

Once again we'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who was involved with the events this weekend and those who took part, supported and donated. It's been a truly brilliant bank holiday weekend so far - well done!
