Zip for Jackie...

Since launching our Zip Wire Challenge, we've heard lots of stories about why people are taking part and the reasons they are raising money for their chosen charities. Some of these people have been kind enough to share these stories with us.

Amy Bulmer (picture above with her two sons) is another one of our Zip Wire Participants who wanted to share the reasons why she was taking part.

Next Sunday, Amy will be taking part on behalf of Alzheimer's Society North East, inspired by Jackie Hart. Amy wrote to us to tell us about how Jackie had inspired her to take part explaining that though Jackie and her husband had never had children, they treated all their friends as their own. Amy had known Jackie and her husband since been a young girl and had been close enough to call them 'Aunty' and 'Uncle.'

Unfortunately a few years ago, Jackie was diagnosed with alzheimers and the couple's friends have watched the ups and downs of the illness that Jackie is going through and the heart ache Jackie's husband has suffered.

The Sunderland branch of the Alzheimer's Society, Jackie and her husband have used regularly so Amy will be raising vital funds for that branch.
