Roker Park Lights - A Wonderland Experience has been a massive success so far with fantastic crowds turning out, whatever the weather to view the lights and take part in family entertainment each weekend.

This half term our friends at CEED are putting on some extra activities aimed at children eight years and over (younger siblings are welcome to join in with grown up help)! As well as the activity from CEED during the week (listed below), Sunderland Live will also be having our usual weekend family activities between 5pm and 9pm at the weekends. To find out more about this, visit the Roker Park Lights event page.

CEED Half Term Activity at Roker Park Lights

Tuesday 29 October – Bat Boxes & Bat Crafts Pods 11am – 3pm

Bats need homes too! Come and make a bat box with CEED and learn all about bats and their habitats as well as why bats are now seen as the ultimate ‘scary’ animal. Are they really that frightening? With kind support from Durham Bat Group – providing expert knowledge and bat crafts. Take your box home or donate it to be put up in Roker Park.

Wednesday 30 October – Potion Making - Roker Seafront Pods – 1pm – 3pm

So, do you need to turn your teacher into a toad? Surely not. Or would you like to levitate or perhaps develop an invisibility powder? All useful wizardry and witchery. Come down to RokerPods and we’ll be mixing potions to make for an extra special Halloween

Wednesday 30 Oct - Storytelling – Meet at the Bandstand

Join Pascale Konyn from A Bit Crack Storytelling as she tells fantastic tales inspired by the Park and by Halloween. Suitable for families. This will be out and about in Roker Park, seating will be limited so feel free to bring your own.

Meet at the bandstand and be led off into the Park.

Sessions will last approximately 45 minutes - with 30 minutes of stories.
