An evening of entertainment will hit the streets of Washington on Monday 17 November for the official switch on of the Christmas lights in Washington.

Residents will be treated to performances by Rickleton, Albany and Usworth Colliery Primary Schools.

Christmas music will help residents get in the festive mood, and Simon Grundy of Sun FM will compere the event.
