Houghton Feast is an ancient festival held every October in Houghton Le Spring, near Durham and Sunderland. The Festival dates back to the 12th Century when it originated as Michaelmas, the dedication service of the Parish Church of St Michael & All Angels.

Houghton Feast will open on Friday 2 October with the official launch event - an evening of music, dance and light. Beginning at 6pm the FREE event will be brought to life with a range of face painters and story characters. The main stage prgramme kicking of at 7pm will include performances from the traditional Houghton Pipe Band, Zazz Dance Group and many more!

The 2015 Houghton Feast is a 10 day festival and features a fairground, traditional ox roasting, church events, carnival parade, a tattoo with pipes and drums, shows, community events, exhibitions, talks and tours, and fireworks!
